How does your program compare to other Spanish-learning products available? When Spanish On Cassette was originally designed, there were three firm requirements it had to meet:
  1. It had to really work.
  2. It had to require no books or manuals.
  3. It had to cost much less than the competition.
Much advertising is currently being done by other companies with Spanish-learning products, but these three points emphasize characteristics of this product which make it superior to other products and particularly inviting to people who really want to learn Spanish.

Can you really learn to speak, read and write Spanish without the use of any books? The answer is yes, because Spanish uses essentially the same alphabet as English. If therefore, you learn to spell a word and pronounce it in Spanish, you can automatically write it. With our program you learn to spell all the words you speak, and you receive a lot of practice speaking. Some may benefit from practicing writing as they go, but most find it unnecessary.

Why is this program so much less-expensive than other products? The simple truth is that most of the products currently available rely primarily on inviting marketing for their sales. The quality of results expected is usually a only secondary consideration. Hence they typically have high initial purchase prices (from $299 to $799 for fluency systems), and little expectation of repeat buyers or word of mouth advertising.

At ULTI, our philosophy has been different than virtually every other company that sells language learning products. Experience has shown that effective marketing of a quality product is not only more successful in the short run, but more likely to grow into a constant and enduring business over time. Hence, we even offer a trial tape, at a very low price, so that you can see how effective our product is.

In addition, Spanish On Cassette is not sold in stores. Retail stores typically mark the price up 50% or more to cover their costs of advertising, buildings, etc. Internet sales enable us to provide a quality product without passing on to you the exorbitant costs of overhead.

Who uses your product? Most of our customers have been business people who either employ or do business with Spanish-speaking individuals. With the increase in business ventures south of the border due to the passage of NAFTA, the ability to speak, read and write in Spanish is fast becoming more and more valuable to business people.

Also, an ever-increasing percentage of the U.S. population is Spanish-speaking. It is estimated that by the year 2025, more than 25% of the US population will speak Spanish. Many average people, from all walks of life, wish to learn Spanish just because it is becoming so common.

This approach has proven to be effective for anyone interested in learning Spanish including students, tourists, etc. It is designed for anyone who feels they don't have time to sit down with a manual or workbook, but who does have time while driving, jogging, walking or on a plane to listen to tapes. It does not simply have the listener memorize superficial coping phrases. Rather, it is designed to really teach Spanish.

Those who have used this method have felt that this program meets the needs of the busy "executive" types as well as average people who want to learn Spanish. It seems to meet the needs of the growing number of people who feel a need to learn Spanish, but find they have little or no time to sit down with a manual and study on a regular basis. This product is designed to be used while walking, jogging, flying or driving and still actually produce real, lasting results. Many have made similar claims, but I hasten to point out that this approach differs from expensive products being vigorously marketed in that it works. People who listen to the tapes really learn Spanish.

What is the approach used on each tape? This Spanish-learning system is a comprehensive approach. It is designed for the average busy person that really wants to learn the grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and syntax necessary to speak, read, write and understand Spanish in any situation. No matter what anyone says, you just cannot learn Spanish or any other language (except maybe Piglatin), in "three to five hours." To our knowledge, there is no product presently available that accomplishes these objectives as well. Most programs simply have you memorize a few words and phrases.

The methodology we use is designed to be completely inclusive. That is, each tape presents the material: 1) in appropriate segments, 2) with easily understandable explanations (no jargon, etc.), 3) with plenty of repetition, and 4) with regular pauses for the listener to think, process, pronounce and master each principle as it is practiced. In addition the training is cumulative. That is, principles build on each other so that what is learned is continually practiced and retained.

Each lesson also uses verbal repetition to help the listener learn the basic vocabulary that will allow him or her to communicate in a variety of situations. By the time the listener has listened to the first twelve tapes (Level 1), he or she will have mastered and practiced communicating with more than 500 of the most common Spanish words.
